TGIM 2-20-12: Overconfident + Metro Riders Alert

February 20, 2012 by

Hello,

How confident are you in your commitment to Christ? What would it take to shake your faith in the Savior? How would you respond if God asked you to give more than you thought you could bear? Would your devotion be destroyed if your circumstances suddenly changed? When Jesus told Peter and the other apostles that they would abandon him, Peter strongly protested saying: “”If I must die with you, I will not deny you.” And (the other apostles) all said the same.” – Mark 14: 31b Despite this affirmation, each of these men fell away just as Jesus said they would. The apostles were well intentioned but overconfident in their own ability to stay true to Christ. Today, let’s confess the weakness of our faith and ask God to help us maintain a humble dependence on our Savior, even when trouble comes.

Please join us tonight at 7:30 as Pastor John continues to lead us through the book of Jonah.
